Support for local development projects by the Association for the Living Lake Balaton Highlands
Our hunting company has successfully submitted an application in the category of the Local Development Support Call for Proposals VP6-19.2.1.-28-6-21 of the Association for the Living Lake Balaton Highlands. The amount awarded was HUF 4.81 million, which was used to replace the roof of our hunting lodge. The improvement was necessary because there is no community space for young people from neighbouring villages and for Hungarian and foreign hunters coming to the area, which could provide a modern place for their leisure activities. With the present development, our aim was to create a community space that could serve as a base point for youth, community and rural development, increasing social activity, local identity, strengthening the tourism offer and contributing to the retention of tourism and the promotion of settlements. The project will be implemented in partnership with the local school and kindergarten.
Our society considers it important to contribute to the education of the young generation in the love of nature, wildlife and nature conservation. We have held lectures for children in the area to help keep young people in the area.
For the guests arriving at our hunting lodge, brochures presenting the tourist offer of the Lake Balaton Highlands are always available. During personal conversations, guests are recommended the tourist opportunities of the Lake Balaton Highlands. We are also involved in promoting the activities of the disadvantaged population group.

Development of a hunting lodge in the framework of the Hungarian Village Programme

The Marcal Valley Hunting Republic is located at the triple county border of Veszprém, Vas and Zala counties, bordered by the Marcal River from the east. The company's headquarters are registered in Dabronc, but since 2012 the organisation's community programmes have been held in the house in ötvös, rented from the Dabronc Municipality. For a considerable period of time, the property stood unused and empty under the shady canopy, as the owners could not find a suitable use for it. The small house, built in the 1980s in the park of Széchenyi Castle, is now known as the Hunting Lodge of ötvös. The aim of the project is to modernise the energy efficiency of the hunting lodge to meet 21st century needs and to improve services to meet the basic needs of people living in Dabronc and the surrounding villages. The building, which serves as a hunting lodge, was built in the 1980s in B30 brick and has a poor energy rating today. Every year, the Company develops and modernises the property to the best of its ability, in the spirit of good management. Among other things, new tiling has been installed in all the rooms of the two-storey property, the tiled stove has been upgraded with a horseshoe, so that the outdated and expensive gas convector heating has been replaced by central heating, and the entire electrical network has been replaced. Replacement of the windows and external insulation of the house have been on the list of planned renovations for several years, but their own resources are insufficient. The direct target group of the project is the members of the Marcal Valley Hunting Association and the visiting guest hunters, while the indirect target group is the entire population of Dabronc, Ötvös, Zalaerdőd and Hetyefő. There is no multifunctional community space of this kind in these municipalities. The long-term result of the project is that the civil community activities and the conditions necessary for their implementation will be realised, a modern community space will be created, and the number of people living in the small villages of Dabronc, Ötvös, Zalaerdőd and Hetyefő will increase as a result of the improvements made, and their quality of life will improve.
