Marcal Valley Hunting Club

Marcal Valley Hunting Club

Our hunting company is located in the triple border area of Veszprém, Vas and Zala counties, including the municipal boundaries of Dabronc, Zalaerdőd, Hetyefő, Gógánfa and Megyer. Our permanent watercourse is the river Marcal and the stream Vörösvíz, which flows into the Marcal. Our hunting area covers 4,300 ha, almost half of which is a continuous forest block consisting mainly of mixed deciduous forests, with a smaller proportion of various pine species, and the other half of our hunting area consists of intensively managed agricultural land. Among the big game species, red deer, fallow deer, wild boar and roe deer find favourable living conditions here, pheasants, hares and mallards are found in limited numbers among small game, and in winter flocks of wild geese occasionally appear. In addition to fox and badger, the golden jackal has also been one of our predators for a number of years. Our hunting lodge, owned by the municipality of Dabronc, is located in the park of Ötvös Castle, where we welcome visiting hunting guests and also serve as a venue for various hunting club and civic events. Our hunting club currently has 21 members, 13 of whom have a hunting licence, 8 are farmers in the area or work in public administration.
